On September 23, 2019 the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Turkey in cooperation with the Estonian and Latvian Embassies marked in Ankara the 30th anniversary of the „Baltic Way“.
In preparation to mark the 70th Anniversary of NATO, Ambassador Audrius Bruzga on March 26, 2019 met with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Turkey, Mr Hulusi Akar.
On Friday, 8th March, the first kick-off meeting of the project “A Roadmap for Smart City” took place in Çorum. The objectives of the project include creating a smart city road map for the cities of the participating municipalities and increase the level of knowledge of municipal staff in this regard, as well as to establish sustainable relations between Çorum and Telšiai.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu paid an official visit to the Republic of Lithuania on 3 April 2015, upon the invitation of Linas Linkevičius, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
The bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Lithuania was recorded as 687 million Dollars in 2018, which corresponds to 13 percent decrease compared to the year before (Turkish exports 277 million Dollars; imports 410 million Dollars).
The political relations between Turkey and Lithuania are positively improving. Turkey's support for Lithuania's NATO membership and Lithuania’s support for Turkey’s EU membership negotiations have been instrumental in further strengthening our relations.
